Privacy Policy

1. What we collect
Estimate Well is a collaborative story-point estimation tool. When you use it, we store the following data in Firebase Realtime Database:
- The display name you enter when joining a session
- Ticket numbers or titles you add to a session
- The estimation votes you cast during a session
- Presence state (whether you are currently active in a session)
Display names are stored in Firebase as plain text and are visible to all participants in the same session — this is intentional, since the tool needs to show who cast which vote. We do not collect email addresses, passwords, or any other information. No account creation is required.
2. How we use it
Session data is used solely to synchronise the estimation board in real time among participants who share the session URL. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the tool.
3. Data retention
Session data persists in Firebase until the session is deleted or the database is
cleared. Your display name is also kept in your browser's localStorage
so you don't have to re-enter it on the next visit.
4. Third-party services
We use the following third-party infrastructure:
- Firebase (Google) — real-time session storage and hosting. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
5. Cookies
Estimate Well does not use cookies. Preference data (such as theme) is stored only in
your browser's localStorage.
